The two firms had been operating under the same leadership since 2021. Woman-owned Break the Ice Media, headquartered in Canandaigua, was formed in 2009 and has provided public relations and marketing solutions for clients in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.
In 2021, Break the Ice Media acquired Travel Alliance Partners, a collective of tour operators, travel suppliers and travel buyers that work collaboratively to build and promote travel products across the globe.
“Since starting Break the Ice Media in 2009, I have firmly believed that the travel, tourism and hospitality industry was strongest through collaboration,” Nicole Mahoney, president and CEO of Travel Alliance Partnership, said in a news release.
“We operated under this mindset when acquiring Travel Alliance Partners, understanding that the two entities provided valuable benefits to common audiences: tour operators, destinations, attractions and more. It has been a natural evolution to combine efforts to provide services that strengthen the ties without our travel community.”
The combined firm will continue to leverage its expertise in public relations and marketing while placing a stronger emphasis on collaborative efforts within the travel industry. There also will be enhanced digital marketing strategies, increased client engagement and membership programs for tour operators and destinations.
