The Martin Group, a marketing communications firm headquartered in Buffalo with a strong presence in the Rochester market, has acquired the Mr. Smith Agency of Buffalo.
A creative, brand strategy and content studio, Mr. Smith Agency will merge into The Martin Group, but will remain a distinct division and brand.
All eight employees will be retained, with founder Rob Dimmer becoming vice president and general manager of the Mr. Smith division. Terms of the deal, which closed May 1, were not disclosed.
The acquisition expands The Martin Group’s branding, digital marketing, social media and video capabilities. The 25-year-old firm provides research, strategy, analytics, creative, public relations, public affairs, digital marketing, paid media and advertising, and social media expertise to brands and organizations.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Mr. Smith to The Martin Group,” Matt Davison, chief business officer for TMG, said in a news release. “Our team has long admired the talent, culture and creative output of Mr. Smith, and we believe the firm will make an incredible addition to our company and the work we do to support clients of all shapes, sizes and needs.”
The Martin Group now has 107 employees, with 23 working out of the office on East Main Street in Victor.
