WHEC-TV in Rochester has new general manager

Kahl has more than 30 years of experience in the television industry, with stints at ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox affiliates. He comes to Rochester from Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was vice president and general manager at KTUL, the Fox affiliate.
He has also worked in Idaho Falls-Pocatello-Jackson, Idaho; Tallahassee, Florida; Knoxville, Tennessee; Roanoke, Virginia; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
“I am very excited about joining the WHEC News10 NBC team and becoming a part of the Rochester community,” Kahl said in a news release. “WHEC has a long history of service to the Rochester area with a committed team of news professionals.”
Kahl replaces Dick Reingold, who is retiring. Kahl will join WHEC on May 18. WHEC is part of Hubbard Broadcasting‘s 13-station television group.

Kahl is a graduate of Fordham University.
