Scottsville-based Patriot Towers acquires Buffalo firm
Listen to this articlePatriot Towers Inc. of Scottsville, a provider of cell tower construction, modification and maintenance services, has acquired Buffalo-based Transwave Communications Systems, Inc.
The deal, which closed on May 1, significantly expands Patriot Towers‘ telecommunications and broadband capabilities while creating a broader communications infrastructure across the northeast.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. For the near future, Transwave will operate as Transwave, A Patriot Towers Company.
By combining forces, Patriot Towers has bolstered its expertise in tower construction, civil site development, structural modifications secure microwave communications networks, broadband services, technical integration and wireless infrastructure deployment.
Transwave customers now have access to expanded tower development and construction capabilities while Patriot Towers’ access to microwave communications opportunities and wireless networks in the northeast has been accelerated.
“Transwave has built an outstanding reputation in the telecommunications industry, particularly in microwave communications and broadband services,” Rich Schickler, president of Patriot Towers, said in a news release. Together, we see significant opportunities to strengthen our capabilities, expand service offerings, providing stable growth in an otherwise volatile industry.”
Transwave was founded in 1993 and serves cellular carriers, utilities, healthcare organizations, municipalities and public sector entities.
Patriot Towers, spun out of a telecommunications business in 2001, provides specialty wireless communications construction, civil construction and tower climbers across 12 states in the northeast.
