Breast Cancer Coalition secures $65K to expand health equity outreach

The has received $65,000 in grant funding to advance for individuals impacted by breast and gynecologic cancers, with a specific focus on serving the Hispanic and Latino communities.

The Breast Cancer Coalition is in the second year of a three-year strategic plan that will build on the organization’s successes, elevate its impact and engage more deeply and intentionally with the community.  

With this recent grant funding awarded to the coalition, the organization will have greater opportunities to enhance programs and optimize outreach in the region. 

Christina Thompson, Breast Cancer Coalition executive director, said the grants allow the organization to expand culturally responsive programs in English and Spanish, improving health literacy and ensuring more individuals and families can access the resources they need. 

“Every person deserves to navigate a cancer diagnosis with confidence, understanding and support in the language they are most comfortable speaking,” she said.
