The Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) Board of Trustees has retained Isaacson, Miller, a national executive search firm, to guide the search for the institution’s next president and CEO following the departure of Hillary Olson.
Olson, who stepped down in June to lead the Hagley Museum and Library in Delaware, was the organization’s seventh president.
Founded in 1982, Isaacson, Miller specializes in recruiting executives for civic, cultural and educational institutions across the country.
“We are incredibly excited to officially launch this national search alongside Isaacson, Miller,” said Alex Molinich, trustee and chair of the RMSC President and CEO Search Committee. “Finding a leader who shares our deep commitment to science, history, culture and nature is our highest priority.”
Bruce Baker, RMSC Board of Trustees chair, emphasized that the incoming leader will step in at a pivotal moment for the organization, as it begins to implement its new strategic plan.
“This is a defining moment for the RMSC as we look to the future,” Baker said.
The search committee, composed of RMSC trustees, will work closely with Isaacson, Miller over the coming months.
The process will include opportunities for staff, stakeholders and partners in the Rochester community to share their input on the qualifications, experiences and attributes desired in the next leader.
