Richard “Dick” Reingold, who has guided operations at WHEC-TV (Channel 10) since 2018, has announced he will retire in the spring.

During Reingold’s tenure as vice president and general manager, the station has expanded live news broadcasts while leading the ratings in most daily timeslots among the 25-54 Nielsen Ratings demographic.

WHEC now produces 41.5 hours of live, local broadcast news every week, 12 hours more than any other station in the market. The news lineup includes the only live newscast on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

A 1969 graduate of Union College, Reingold’s career included top management roles with WCTI-TV in New Bern, North Carolina; NBC Montana (a three-station group in Missoula, Kalispell and Butte); WUSA in Washington, D.C.; and NBC Asia.

He will continue in his current role until a successor is named.

and the Rochester Business Journal have been news partners throughout Reingold’s tenure.
