Campbell officially assumed the role on June 30, succeeding founder Bob Jacobson, who will remain CEO and shift his focus toward sales, major programs and identifying new market opportunities.

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for the Victor-based company.
Jacobson launched Lite Coms in 2019 after retiring from L-3 Global Communications Solutions Inc. in 2016, prior to its merger with Harris Corp. Starting in Henrietta, the company quickly outgrew its original footprint and relocated to Ontario County to accommodate its expansion plans.
Today, Lite Coms designs and manufactures Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSATs), ground-based satellite dishes and related equipment that provide secure, two-way satellite communications for commercial customers, the U.S. military and coalition partners around the world.
The company’s growth trajectory has been striking. Since its inception, Lite Coms has at least doubled sales year-over-year, reaching its initial five-year revenue target of $31 million and then surpassing $100 million in annual revenue in 2024. Demand has remained strong in both military and commercial markets.
“Greg is the right leader for where Lite Coms is headed,” Jacobson said. “We’ve worked together before, and I’ve seen firsthand how he builds strong teams and helps organizations grow while staying focused on the customer.”
Campbell brings nearly two decades of leadership experience from Buffalo-based Calspan, where he spent 18 years and most recently served as president.
During his tenure, he oversaw strategic growth initiatives across aerospace and defense programs, including global SATCOM flight testing for next-generation satellite communications systems, expansion of optical communications testing capabilities and support for the VISTA X-62A autonomous flight test program in partnership with the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School.
Campbell said he and Jacobson share a customer-first philosophy and that his efforts will include helping the company execute new programs and product initiatives while sustaining its momentum.
“There’s a tremendous track record here,” Campbell said.
As president, he will oversee day-to-day operations while working closely with employees, customers and industry partners.
His priorities include expanding manufacturing capabilities, investing in new technologies and ensuring Lite Coms continues delivering reliable communications solutions to defense customers operating in demanding environments.
“Lite Coms has built its success by listening to its customers, solving complex customer challenges and delivering products that perform when they’re needed most,” Campbell said. “I’m excited to build on that foundation as we continue growing the company and supporting the missions of our customers around the world.”
Campbell, an Orchard Park resident who plans to relocate to the Rochester area with his wife and two teenage daughters, said the region offers significant advantages for a technology company, particularly its talent pipeline from local colleges and universities.
He joins the company as it builds on a major expansion completed last year.
Lite Coms invested $2.8 million to add a 20,000-square-foot production facility at its 10-acre Victor campus to keep pace with rising demand for its satellite communications systems. A second building houses administrative offices, engineering, supply chain and human resources operations.
Completed in just nine months, the expansion increased the company’s manufacturing capacity and positioned it to support a growing customer base in both commercial and military markets.
Lite Coms now employs nearly 50 people and continues to hire for select positions.
