Rochester-based Syntec Optics Holdings Inc. is continuing its momentum in the defense and space sectors, announcing two new orders that highlight its growing role in advanced U.S. manufacturing.
The company has secured initial orders to produce high-performance fuel actuators for rocket engines used in defense and space applications.
Syntec will leverage its advanced nanotechnology and high-precision manufacturing capabilities for the mission-critical components, which are essential for controlling propellant flow and ensuring engine reliability.
“The reliability of rocket engines is paramount, and that reliability starts with the precision of every single component,” said Matt Carey, vice president of Business Development and Delivery at Syntec Optics. “This work highlights our commitment to supporting the U.S. industrial base for both defense and the growing commercial space economy.”
Additionally, the company announced it has secured new additional orders for its ultra-high-precision LEO satellite optics.
Syntec’s nano-scale manufacturing solutions improve the range of space communications signals at high orbital velocities. Additionally, optical technology enables lower latency for satellite broadband, a key advantage over traditional radar-based systems.
Syntec was formed over two decades ago from the aggregation of three advanced manufacturing companies started in the 1980s. It is now one of the largest custom and diverse end-market optics and photonics manufacturers in the United States.
The business went public in 2023 and operates in a nearly 90,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on Lee Road.
