A recent survey of Rochester’s commercial real estate landscape identified 14 real estate developers who manage over 20 million square feet of non-residential property. Buckingham Properties LLC leads with 9.48 million square feet, followed by Gallina Development Corp. at 3.52 million and DiMarco Group LLC at 2.46 million.

The companies trace roots from 1910 to 2014. DiMarco Group holds position as the oldest firm, while Royal Oak Realty Trust emerged as the newest in 2014.

All of the firms that provided employment figures employ between 4 to 125 people locally. Mark IV Enterprises reports the largest workforce, followed by Landsman Real Estate Services at 110 local employees.

Projects range from retail centers to office complexes. Buckingham Properties developed The Butler/Till Building and Tower280. The Daniele Family Companies built the Whole Foods Center and Royal Car Washes. DiMarco Group worked with companies like Walmart, ALDI and URMC.

New development in 2025 totals 581,517 square feet across the firms. Buckingham Properties plans 108,617 square feet, DiMarco Group 160,000 square feet, and Daniele Family Companies 279,000 square feet. For rehabilitation projects, DiMarco Group leads with 384,000 square feet, followed by Buckingham Properties at 88,703 square feet.
