Years in current role: 2
What personal or professional environmental effort are you most proud of?
My team and I lead a nonprofit professional development program for CEOs and co-founders of innovative global energy and climate startups. We have 58 companies in our portfolio that we have graduated over four years out of 1,470 applicants.
What are you most optimistic about regarding the Rochester region’s approach to environmental issues?
We have great manufacturing and scale-up expertise in our area that can accelerate the growth of early-stage technology companies. We also have some of the most talented environmental leaders, engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs in the world living and working in our region.
What are you most concerned about regarding the Rochester region’s approach to environmental issues?
Rochester needs to increase investment and commitment toward the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem that organizations such as NextCorps are building, with an increased emphasis on energy and climate startups. NYSERDA and New York state have been making significant investments to help grow our capabilities, but the private sector needs to step up.
What advice would you give someone who is looking to make a difference in addressing environmental issues?
Get involved! Reach out to us at NextCorps on the sixth floor of the Sibley building in downtown Rochester, or email us at [email protected]
What is your favorite outdoor activity in the Rochester area?
Golfing, boating, hiking and skiing!
