Owner/Managing Attorney, Larimer Law
Years in current role: 13
What changes in the legal industry do you believe will have the biggest impact on clients over the next few years?
We’ve been saying this for many years now, but the song remains the same. AI will and already is changing how law is practiced.
What is one challenge currently facing the legal profession that deserves more attention?
The blurring of the lines between the practice of law, which still (and for good reasons) requires a license, and the use and reliance on emergent tools like generative AI by both lawyers and non-lawyers to perform traditional legal functions.
How do you balance legal expertise with client service and relationship-building?
To me, these are not competing aspects. They all fall under the umbrella of being a dedicated professional and emphasizing cogent, thoughtful and timely communication. The best way to build client relationships is to provide high-quality service.
