What changes in the legal industry do you believe will have the biggest impact on clients over the next few years?

The most significant change will be the ability to deliver legal services more efficiently through the thoughtful use of AI and well-trained paraprofessionals. I believe that when implemented properly, with training and oversight, these tools allow legal teams to reduce the cost of routine work while maintaining quality. This shift has the potential to lower overall client bills for many matters. The real impact will come from firms that adapt their staffing and processes to pass those efficiencies through to clients while preserving the judgment and oversight that experienced attorneys provide.

What is one challenge currently facing the legal profession that deserves more attention?

A key challenge is ensuring the profession evolves ethically alongside advances in technology. As costs and hourly rates continue to rise, access to quality legal services becomes more limited. The legal industry has historically been slow to adapt, but this is a moment where that must change. If we want to expand access, we need to rethink how services are delivered, embrace efficiency responsibly, and ensure that regulatory frameworks keep pace so clients can benefit from both innovation and protection.

How do you balance legal expertise with client service and relationship-building?

Legal expertise is critical, but the real value comes from how it is delivered. I focus on being present and accessible, not just responsive. Clients benefit most from direct conversations and a clear understanding of their goals, rather than purely transactional communication. Technology helps with speed, but strong relationships are built through interaction and trust. As the practice of law becomes more efficient, it creates more time to focus on what matters most — understanding clients and providing thoughtful, practical guidance.

How important is community involvement or pro bono work within your organization?

Community involvement is an important part of our culture. Much of our work supports local businesses and organizations, so giving back aligns naturally with what we do. I’ve personally been involved for many years with Mercy Flight Central, serving as a board member and secretary, and we encourage others in the firm to take on similar roles. That involvement strengthens both our connection to the community and our understanding of the issues our clients face.

What is one accomplishment — professional or personal — that you are especially proud of?

On a personal level, I’m most proud of my family. I’ve been fortunate to build a great life with my wife—we recently celebrated 10 years of marriage—and we’re raising two daughters who mean everything to us. Balancing a demanding legal practice and business, with being a present husband and father is something I take seriously. Like any long-term commitment, it requires constant effort, but it’s the most important and rewarding accomplishment I have.
