What is one challenge currently facing the legal profession that deserves more attention?
One challenge that deserves more attention is the increasing cost of delivering high-quality legal services. Law firms are facing rising overhead, higher compensation demands for skilled attorneys and staff, and a workforce that appropriately values balance and flexibility. Clients, meanwhile, are dealing with many of those same financial pressures but still need strong advocacy when the stakes are highest. The profession has to find a way to bridge that gap. We are continually refining our systems, processes and use of technology so we can deliver better service, create a better experience for our team, and offer representation that is tailored to each client’s needs while remaining as cost-effective as possible.
How do you balance legal expertise with client service and relationship-building?
In family law, legal expertise and client service are inseparable. Before we can apply legal strategy, our clients need to trust us. They need to feel comfortable sharing deeply personal details about their relationships, goals and concerns. Without that foundation, the process can feel overwhelming and anxiety often drives decision-making. We work hard to recruit people who are passionate about family law and committed to helping families through difficult transitions. We continually invest in training, collaboration and modernizing our approach so we can be highly skilled, efficient and focused on what matters most, helping clients feel informed, supported and confident throughout the process.
What is one accomplishment — professional or personal — that you are especially proud of?
Professionally, I am most proud of helping build Clark Peshkin from the ground up. Growing the firm has never been about becoming bigger for the sake of being bigger, it has been about creating a team of talented, compassionate professionals who truly care about helping families. We have built a culture that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement, while never losing sight of the people we serve. Watching our team grow, seeing the impact we have on clients’ lives, and knowing we help people find stability during some of their most challenging moments is what makes the work so rewarding.
