Alana M. Fuierer is a litigator and registered patent attorney. Her practice includes patent, copyright and trademark litigation, as well as patent prosecution, with technical experience in chemistry, water treatment, hydrology, bio-remediation, environmental microbiology, contaminant transport, oil and gas (including hydraulic fracturing), materials and semiconductor design.

Ms. Fuierer advises companies, locally, nationally and around the globe, in all aspects of Intellectual Property law.

In 2005, Ms. Fuierer co-founded Heslin Rothenberg’s Cleantech Group, one of the first legal practice groups in the country to focus on IP rights in clean energy and other environmental technologies. In this capacity, Ms. Fuierer helped develop the Clean Energy Patent Growth Index (CEPGI), which has gained national recognition for the firm. In 2006, Ms. Fuierer moved to Rochester and initiated the opening of the firm’s WNY/CNY satellite office.

Admitted to practice in all NY district courts, the 2nd & 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and is registered patent attorney before US Patent and Trademark Office.

Awarded the Up and Coming Business Leaders Award (2008)

Selected as a NY “Super Lawyer” in the area of Intellectual Property Litigation (2012-2015).

Featured in Super Lawyer Magazine (2013)

Member of the Monroe County Bar Association, Rochester Intellectual Property Association, Rochester Women’s Network, and Greater Rochester Association of Women Attorneys, and currently serves on the MCBA Business Law Council.
