The July 15 ROC the Block Community Employment Fair at the Rochester Public Market will feature 144 vendors, including employers and community resources partners.
Scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the block-party-style event will be the largest in the program’s six-year history.
ROC the Block is a community-based hiring initiative that brings businesses and recruiters to the city’s four quadrants throughout the summer and early fall.
“Opportunity is out there, and we’re here to help you find it at our ROC the Block Employment Fairs,” Mayor Malik Evans said in a news release. “Meet employers, get help with your résumé and applications, or learn about supportive services from housing to childcare that you may need to be able to work. We’ve created a true one-stop shop for jobseekers.”
Registered employers included Regional Transit Service (RTS), Spectrum, Trillium Health, Qualitrol, American Medical Response.
The city’s Workforce Development Mobile Unit will be on site to provide Wi-Fi access and laptops for job-seekers that need to update résumés or complete applications.
The final job fairs of the season are set for Aug. 19 at the Salvation Army (100 West Ave.) and Sept. 24 at Parcel 5 (285 East Main St.).
