How do you approach decision-making when facing uncertainty on a project?

Our business is dealing with other businesses’ uncertainty. We bring our Executive Team directly to the issue to ensure decisions are made with both speed and perspective. Our approach is guided by evaluating the situation collaboratively and leaning on the depth of experience across our team. We focus on disciplined, informed decision-making while remaining flexible enough to pivot when conditions change. In construction, uncertainty is inevitable, but having the right people engaged early allows us to minimize risk, maintain momentum, and keep projects moving forward successfully.

Are there innovations you’ve adopted that have significantly improved efficiency or outcomes?

We have focused on combining training, mentoring and coaching with the adoption of advancing technologies, including AI. These technologies help us better understand stakeholders’ needs, streamline operations, and enhance development decisions. We believe technology is most effective when paired with experienced people who know how to apply it strategically in the field. As adoption grows, we see opportunities to improve efficiency and long-term asset performance across our real estate and business footprint.

If you could collaborate on any project in the region, what would it be?

The Micron investment in Central New York is a once-in-a-generation opportunity that has the potential to fundamentally reshape the economic trajectory of Upstate New York. The impact goes beyond a single facility. These will require coordinated investment in workforce, housing, infrastructure, and supplier capacity to meet its scale. By collaborating with stakeholders in public, private, nonprofit and consulting partners throughout the Western NY region, we can ensure the Upstate New York economy is prepared for growth while enabling private businesses and local communities to share in its long-term benefits.
