Rochester Business Journal Staff//May 29, 2026//
President, Gallina Development Corp.
Years in current role: 40-plus
Where do you see the most untapped potential for development in the Rochester region?
We need to encourage development on Main Street with incentives to attract entrepreneurs interested in opening restaurants and retail locations. Once we get a few to make the commitment, with the proper support, I believe that Main Street has great potential to be an active corridor complementing all that is happening in the vicinity.
What’s one challenge in today’s market that keeps you up at night?
The continued reduction of office space is a trend that is very troubling and problematic for the overall office market. I hope that we are reaching the point where this trend has been played out, but unfortunately, I believe that there is more downsizing coming.
How do you approach decision-making when facing uncertainty on a project?
We face many unforeseen variables that may or may not be out of our control, specifically on the cost side of projects. If there is too much risk that we cannot mitigate, we are being more cautious, jeopardizing the viability of the project. Part of the approach is how confident we feel in the market and our ability to lease up new projects in this uncertain environment.
