We are pleased to announce the next installment of our In the Lead recognition program — In the Lead: Best Legacy Businesses in Rochester — which recognizes accomplished companies with a long history in the region that demonstrate excellence across a broad spectrum of criteria.

The businesses highlighted in this section are contributing in many ways to the economic success we see in our region. They have weathered changing dynamics over the years and have reinvented themselves as necessary to continue to thrive.
The companies you will learn about in this section succeed on some or on many levels — growth in the marketplace; high employee morale; strong community engagement; innovation and product breakthroughs.
This list was compiled by Rochester Business Journal’s editorial leadership team based in part on recommendations from the community as well as our own internal research. To quality for recognition, a company must have headquarters in the Rochester area, have been in business for at least 50 years, have at least four employees, and be publicly traded or privately owned.
Please join us in congratulating the businesses we honor here. We hope you enjoy the profiles of these companies and their unique stories.
If you know of a company you think is a strong candidate for future inclusion on our In the Lead: Best Legacy Businesses list, we’d love to hear from you. We considered many other companies for inclusion and look forward to telling their stories in the future.
