The Monroe County Medical Society is accepting nominations for the prestigious Edward Mott Moore Award, recognizing a layperson whose service has made a significant impact on community health and well-being. Nominations will be accepted through March 23.

In evaluating nominees, the Monroe County Medical Society considers several criteria. The first is the length of service to the community, recognizing individuals whose contributions have been sustained over a significant period of time.
Another key factor is the level of results achieved through that service. Nominees should have made an outstanding contribution that goes beyond the normal expectations of their professional responsibilities.
The selection committee also evaluates effort, looking for individuals who have demonstrated both breadth and depth in their dedication, showing sustained energy, commitment and spirit in their work.
Additionally, nominees are evaluated based on their impact on patients or the medical profession, with the award recognizing distinguished service that has advanced and promoted the health and well-being of people throughout the community.
The Monroe County Medical Society seeks to recognize individuals whose achievements across these areas are exceptional. While nominees may demonstrate particular strength in one category over another, the award celebrates those whose work has had a meaningful and lasting influence on community health.
The Edward Mott Moore Award remains one of the region’s most respected recognitions of community leadership in health and medicine.
