Corp. has acquired the U.S. frozen business of B&G Foods, expanding the Fairport-based company’s footprint in the growing frozen vegetable category. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As part of the transaction, Seneca Foods acquired the  brand and associated intellectual property tied to the U.S. frozen segment, along with frozen inventory and a facility in Yuma, Arizona.

The deal also includes a supply agreement for certain Green Giant frozen products produced in Irapuato, Mexico, by B&G Foods.

The acquisition builds on Seneca’s November 2023 purchase of the Green Giant U.S. shelf-stable vegetable product line from B&G Foods, further consolidating the brand under Seneca’s portfolio.

“This acquisition significantly enhances our frozen capabilities and expands our reach in the frozen category,” said Paul Palmby, president and CEO of Seneca Foods. “We very much look forward to growing the frozen franchise in a category that continues to expand and building on the positive momentum we’ve experienced in the Green Giant shelf-stable business.”

Seneca Foods ranked sixth on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of largest local and beverage manufacturers, employing 270 people locally.
