The Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum, a historic and cultural landmark in the Wayne County village of Sodus Point, is seeking professionals from the area to join the organization’s volunteer board of trustees.
For over 40 years, the Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum has been a steward of local heritage, offering exhibitions, educational programming and public events.
A nonprofit, the organization is launching new initiatives designed to expand the community impact and enhance the preservation of regional maritime history.
Expertise in a variety of areas is sought, including nonprofit governance, fundraising and development, legal and real estate, historic preservation, and museum operations.
“Our board is looking for individuals who are not only skilled in their fields but who also have a passion for history, culture and community,” Helen Dunlap, trustee, said in a news release. “This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a cherished institution with a growing regional presence.”
More information is available on the organization’s website.
