Rochester Ford dealers will again donate vehicle to nonprofit in need

Rochester Ford dealers will again donate vehicle to nonprofit in need

The is returning in 2026, with area nonprofit organizations in need of reliable transportation invited to apply for a free new vehicle.

The Friendship Express is a pay-it-forward initiative that began in Buffalo in 1996 and moved into the Rochester market in 2001.

When applying for the program, nonprofit organizations are asked to demonstrate how improved transportation would advance their mission.

“For 25 years now, Rochester Area Ford Dealers have been proud to donate a new Ford van to local organizations in need of transportation,” , Rochester-area Ford dealer and member of the Western New York Ford Dealers Association board, said in a news release. “We are proud to carry on this annual tradition of supporting the community organizations that provide vital and meaningful services to our neighbors across the region.”

The program website has applications and program guidelines. Applications are due by July 31.

Nonprofits operating in Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario and Wayne counties are eligible.
