Free event at Geva showcases Rochester’s Black community in pictures
Adam Eaton Art is presenting Black is Beautiful 2023 in Rochester next week. The art exhibition features the work of local artist Adam Eaton who captures the essence and diversity of Rochester’s Black community through fine art photography.
The free event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 27 at Geneva Theatre Center.
Organizers said the show features art, culture and a celebration of beauty.
“I want to show the world that Black people are beautiful and specifically Rochester is beautiful,” Eaton said, adding that the show encourages dialogue and self-reflection, challenging traditional beauty standards and redefining them to include all skin tones and hair textures. “The Black Is Beautiful 2023 exhibition is an opportunity for the Rochester community to come together and celebrate the beauty and diversity of its residents.
