Labrosa, who attended the Rochester City School District, has taught there since 2010.

“As an educator, her values have centered on justice and equity where she amplified the voices of historically marginalized groups that deserve and need to be heard,” said Jeffrey Alexis, MD, chair of the search committee and Horizons at Harley board member. “She is a passionate advocate for children and families, and we look forward to her bringing these outstanding qualities to Horizons at Harley.”

Labrosa earned her Master of Education degree from Nazareth College. She served as a teaching assistant in Guatemala and as an ESOL teacher in South Korea before returning to Rochester.

In addition to her work at RCSD, she has taught ESOL/ESL at Rochester Institute of Technology and Monroe Community College.

“The partnership between Harley and Horizons is truly special and a testament to the commitment, Harley has made to the students and families of Horizons,” Labrosa said. ” I am excited to lead this incredible organization and to become a member of The Harley School community.”

The Horizons Student Enrichment Program at The Harley School is a summer education experience that helps students from underserved Rochester families succeed. Horizons at Harley makes a nine-year commitment to students from the Rochester City School District – from kindergarten through 8th grade – and provides year-round support.
