Aldi to open Irondequoit store next month

National low-price grocery chain Aldi will open in Irondequoit in December.

“Aldi is answering the growing demand for our high-quality products and responding to market dynamics with this new Irondequoit store,” said Aaron Sumida, Tully division vice president for Aldi in a statement.

The company will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 4, at 2194 Hudson Ave. The event is open to the public.

The new store will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, officials said.

The new store plans to offer healthier options, including organic produce. The retailer has 1,300 in 32 states with plans to add roughly 130 stores each year, officials said.
