Annual golf tournament raises more than $40,000 to support student athletes

May 27 —  Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women hosted its annual Father Ed Zimmer Memorial Golf Tournament at The Links at Greystone in Walworth. The beloved tradition brought together over 100 golfers, alumnae and supporters, raising more than $40,000 to support Mercy students and student-athletes.

Mercy’s longtime golf coach, Julie Odenbach, was also recognized during the tournament as the inaugural recipient of the Mercy Legacy in Athletics Award. The award honors individuals whose leadership, service and commitment have shaped athletics at the school and created lasting opportunities for young women. Odenbach founded the school’s girls golf program in 2000 and has helped grow the sport at Mercy and across Section V for more than 25 years.
