May 30 – ONYA, the Ontario Yates Fund, raised over $12,000 at its annual fundraiser, Bud to Bloom, on Saturday, May 30 in Geneva.

Over a hundred participants gathered at the 41 Lakefront Hotel for the Bud to Bloom on the cool, sunny, springtime day. This year’s fundraiser featured an extensive silent auction, a delicious luncheon, and an inspiring and entertaining speech by the Honorable Debra Martin (Ret.), a New York State Court of Claims Judge and Supreme Court Justice, who shared her experiences as a lifelong volunteer and offered ways to encourage others to volunteer, too.

Attendees also learned more about the eight specific programs that ONYA funded in 2026 with updates on their work to date and plans for the remainder of 2026.

ONYA is dedicated to helping women and girls become independent and self-sufficient and funds raised will provide future grants to agencies and organizations that empower women and girls with programs that address education, intervention, legal assistance, and other relevant solutions in Ontario and Yates counties.
