Golisano Institute expands transfer agreements with new university partnership

Golisano Institute expands transfer agreements with new university partnership

A new partnership between the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship and  is creating a streamlined pathway for students to continue their from a certificate to a four-year degree. 

Under the agreement, students who complete the Institute’s Professional Certificate in Business & Entrepreneurship will be eligible for guaranteed admission — with full junior standing — into the Alfred University College of Business.  

From there, they can pursue a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Business Administration degree with a Business Analytics minor, or a Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics. Students must apply within four years of completing the program and meet standard admission or program-specific requirements. 

Institute President Ian Mortimer said the collaboration expands opportunities for students seeking to build on their education without taking on excessive debt. He noted Alfred’s strong outcomes, with a high percentage of graduates either employed or enrolled in graduate programs within a year. 

Mark Zupan, president of Alfred University, emphasized the alignment between the two institutions, particularly their shared focus on hands-on, applied learning and career readiness. He said the partnership offers students a clear and accessible route to earning a bachelor’s degree and strengthening their long-term career prospects. 

The agreement adds to a growing list of partners for the Golisano Institute, including , , University, College of Professional Studies, , , Daemen University and . 

The Golisano Institute opened its flagship campus in Monroe County in 2023 with a mission to provide practical, career-focused business education at a lower cost. Tuition for its two-year certificate program is $8,900 per year. A second campus is scheduled to open in Buffalo this fall.
