Rochester Business Journal Staff//March 27, 2026//
President. Lavoro Group Corp
Years in current role: 15
What market forces or innovations are poised to have the greatest impact on your industry in the next few years?
The proliferation of private equity and the consolidation of ownership will play a significant role in the next few years. A truly independent and locally owned broker will play an important role for their clients.
What steps are you taking to remain agile in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape?
I find myself spending more and more time at conferences and seminars for both state and federal changes. The key for my firm is finding effective ways to communicate with our clients and keep them up to speed and developing strategies. We find the best way to do that is face-to-face. Being independent and local is the key to remaining agile and understanding our client’s concerns.
How has your leadership philosophy evolved over the course of your career?
My leadership philosophy is always evolving. As my firm continues to grow, we are fortunate to have employees from more than five generations. We are also adding new talented individuals from Gen Z. They have a very different perspective that makes me rethink what a leader should be.
How can local organizations collaborate more effectively to drive regional growth?
My definition of local has changed and grown over the years; my firm has found itself part of more and more regional and national organizations. We then identify local partners within those groups and focus on building relationships with them.
What role does mentorship play in strengthening the local business ecosystem?
My firm prides itself on creating career paths for our employees. Mentorship is a crucial part of providing employees with a career path, rather than just a job. We find that’s the key to our employee retention.
