Rochester Business Journal Staff//February 13, 2026//
Partner, Phillips Lytle LLP
Years in current role: 22
What developments in your industry are you watching most closely as you look ahead to the coming year?
I represent the financing partners in community development projects, so obviously any developments in the finance market — whether it be interest rate adjustments from the Federal Reserve or changes in the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program — can impact the work we do. Also, we need to keep an eye out for any shift in policies for affordable housing at any political level, whether it be from HUD or local housing authorities, as availability of additional needed resources for these projects could be affected.
How do you prioritize long-term innovation while ensuring operational excellence day to day?
It’s a question of balance. Innovation just for the sake of something new isn’t necessarily going to benefit your client. However, being aware and open to innovative ideas and technologies to address concerns or efficiencies for your client is necessary for excellent service.
What regional strengths do you believe position Rochester well for future growth?
Rochester’s excellent universities and medical facilities are a great foundation for national recognition and future growth for Rochester. The knowledge and innovation that are fostered by such organizations can be directed towards our own community development.
