Rochester’s Cobblestone Capital becomes CAPTRUST’s first Upstate NY office
Listen to this articleRochester-based Cobblestone Capital Advisors has joined national investment advisory firm CAPTRUST Financial Advisors, expanding the Raleigh, N.C.-based company’s presence into Upstate New York.
The deal, finalized in September, brings 42 Cobblestone employees — including 15 advisors — and $3.1 billion in wealth and institutional assets to CAPTRUST’s growing network. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded more than 20 years ago, Cobblestone provides investment and wealth management, private investment and family office services.
The firm is led by an executive committee that includes CEO John DiPasquale, Chief Investment Officer Jason Garlock and Managing Director of Business Development Chris Mooney.
As part of the deal, Cobblestone will transition to the CAPTRUST brand and will continue serving clients at its Rochester site.

For CAPTRUST, the partnership adds a well-established Upstate New York presence to its existing footprint in the state, which includes offices in New York City and Lake Success, Long Island. With the addition of the Cobblestone team, CAPTRUST now has 87 employees in New York.

Founded in 1997, CAPTRUST provides investment management, financial planning and advisory services to individuals, institutions and retirement plan sponsors.
The firm has grown through a series of acquisitions in recent years, expanding its national footprint with 1,800 employees who are now serving clients in more than 80 locations across the U.S.
