Hope in Bloom, Goodwill’s annual gala, to be held May 9

will host its annual gala on Friday, May 9. Themed “Hope in Bloom,” the event will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency and will celebrate the positive impact Goodwill’s community-based programs have throughout Rochester and the Finger Lakes region. 

The gala includes an auction and entertainment. All proceeds directly support Goodwill’s impact programs, including 211 LIFE LINE and 988, Goodwill Vision Enterprises, Goodwill Learning Academy and other workforce development opportunities. 

“This year’s gala will truly embody the essence of what we mean when we say Goodwill changes lives,” said Jennifer Lake, Goodwill of the Finger Lakes’ president and CEO. “We’re excited to wear our finest floral attire and come together as a community to inspire, uplift and celebrate the positive impact we’re making in our region.” 

During the celebration, Goodwill will also recognize the contributions of distinguished leaders in the region. That includes presenting the Good Neighbor Award to Jaime Saunders, United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes’ president and CEO. 

The recipient of the Gwen Sterns Visionary Award will be presented to Michael C. Ryan MD from OcuSight Eye Care Center.  

In addition, stories of hope will showcase how the generosity of supporters has made a difference, emphasizing the vital role community support plays in ensuring the organization’s long-term ability to provide essential services that address pressing social needs in Rochester and the Finger Lakes region.
