“Being a woman-owned business in the meat industry, traditionally dominated by men, represents both a challenge and an opportunity,” Camardo said. “It requires breaking stereotypes and overcoming barriers in the industry at leadership and C-suite positions. As a female in the space, this allows for a fresh perspective in customer relations and employee relations, and leveraging strengths in positive and emotional intelligence to run an organization in the current business climate.”
Camardo has shared her expertise and mentored many women in her career, including working with the CLIMB organization through the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, and she has spoken at numerous women’s events. She takes pride in continuing the tradition her great-great-grandparents started.
“I am proud of the people that work with me every day to accomplish goals and continue to innovate and challenge the thinking of a 144-year-old organization,” she said. “I am proud of my three children and watching them evolve into young adults and navigate the challenges of the current environment.”
