Hobart and William Smith Colleges recently finalized an agreement with Finger Lakes Community College that establishes clear pathways for transfer students to enroll at HWS.

The agreement lays out key transfer requirements and objectives, clarifying for students which courses can transfer into HWS before applying.

It allows FLCC graduates to transfer to about 20 programs at HWS with full junior status, said FLCC Vice President of Enrollment Management Carol Urbaitis.

“It is important for our students to have more places to transfer without leaving the Finger Lakes region,” she said.

The transfer requirements stipulate minimum cumulative grade point average for admissions, as well as minimum course grades for transfer credits and policies regarding general education requirements and timelines for completing a bachelor’s degree.

“With this process, we want to simplify and enhance the enrollment procedures to continue to bring exceptional and qualified students to HWS and ensure they get the most out of their education,” said Vice President for Admissions and Financial Aid Mike Quinn. “We are excited about this increased partnership with FLCC, which will create more access for local students and deepen our relationship with the Finger Lakes community.”
