AeroSafe Global earned the top spot on the 36th annual Greater Rochester Chamber Top 100 list of fast-growing, privately held businesses headquartered in the metro area and Finger Lakes region.
The Gates-based firm, founded in 1995, is a provider of cold chain services and solutions for biopharma. AeroSafe Global ensures the safe delivery of temperature-sensitive medicines, vaccines and implantable devices.
Thanks to the company’s reusable cooling containers, pharmaceutical firms were able to transport more than 90 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines around the world.
AeroSafe Global ranked No. 8 a year ago. The firm has 165 employees.
doxy.me, a virtual healthcare software company, ranked second and marketing agency Flynn was No. 3.
Rankings are determined by KPMG LLP, the Chamber’s accounting partner, and based on dollar and percentage revenue growth over the previous three years.
Neither the chamber nor KPMG disclose revenue details.
doxy.me was founded in 2013 and is now the country’s leading virtual healthcare software, enabling providers and patients to connect online. There are seven employees.
Flynn launched in 1967 and is the second-oldest firm in the top 20 (No. 18 Morrell Builders was formed in 1947). The firm emphasizes client relationships, which is one reason two companies have used Flynn’s marketing expertise for more than 25 years.
Rounding out the Top 10: No. 4 Gorbel Inc., No. 5 Oaks Construction, No. 6 ROC Leasing LLC dba Real Lease (2020’s top company), No. 7 Soleo Communications Inc., No. 8 Butler/Till, No. 9 Innovative Solutions, and No. 10 Precision Optical Transceivers, Inc.
“The 2022 Greater Rochester Chamber Top 100 showcases the economic strength, success, and diversity of business sectors and industries that make up the Greater Rochester economy and make this region such a great place to live for so many,” Bob Duffy, Chamber president and CEO, said in a news release.
“We are excited to again see both startups and well-established businesses represented on our list,” Duffy said. “This year, companies who have secured coveted spots on the list employ over 28,000 people and have a total combined revenue of over $15 billion in the most recent fiscal year. The impact these companies have had on our region, economically and beyond, is massive and something that deserves to be celebrated.”
In terms of business sectors, the service industry was No. 1 with 31 companies on the list. Construction firms were second with 16 and technology businesses were third with 12.
