Manning & Napier Advisors Inc. is the region’s fastest growing private company, taking the top spot on the 2011 Rochester Top 100 released Friday by the Rochester Business Alliance Inc. and KPMG LLC.
The Perinton-based investment advisory firm, which has 414 employees, ranked 36th in 2010. RailComm Inc., a Fairport company that provides software-based solutions to railway systems, placed No.2 on the 2011 list. The company has 64 employees.
In the No. 3 spot was Real Lease Inc., a financial services company with eight employees. Rounding out the top five were Fibertech Networks LLC and Pictometry International Inc.
Real Lease is up from No. 53 in 2010; Fibertech is up from No. 6.
To be eligible for the Rochester Top 100, companies must be privately held, have its headquarters in the Rochester region and have at least $1 million in annual revenues for each of three most recent fiscal years. The full list of companies is available at rochesterbusinessalliance.com.
This year is the 25th anniversary of the Rochester Top 100. The companies on the list will be honored Thursday at a gala dinner at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
