The  has unveiled the 12 finalists for induction into the World Video Game Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026.

The finalists are: Angry Birds, Dragon Quest, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, FIFA International Soccer, Frogger, Galaga, League of Legends, Mega Man, PaRappa the Rapper, RuneScape, Silent Hill and Tokimeki Memorial.

“This year’s finalists span decades and platforms, from arcade classics of the 1970s to PC icons of the 1990s to one of the most popular mobile games of all time from the 2000s,” said Jon-Paul C. Dyson, director of the museum’s International Center for the History of Electronic Games.

He noted that several titles are first-time finalists, including the horror classic Silent Hill, platforming icon Mega Man and the globally popular multiplayer title League of Legends.

The Hall of Fame received thousands of nominations for the 2026 class. Public voting is open from March 5 through March 13 through a “Player’s Choice” ballot at the Hall of Fame website

The three games receiving the most fan votes will be combined into a single ballot and join ballots submitted by the International Selection Advisory Committee, a panel of journalists and scholars who evaluate nominees based on their historical and cultural impact.

In a new addition this year, attendees at the Game Developers Conference will also be able to cast votes, with their collective selections forming an additional ballot in the process.

Final inductees will be announced during a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on May 7 at the Hall of Fame’s new home within the ESL Digital Worlds exhibits at the museum.

Established in 2015, the World Video Game Hall of Fame honors games that have achieved icon status, demonstrated longevity, reached audiences across geographic boundaries and influenced the development of other games,  media or broader popular culture.
