The Rochester Broadway Theatre League has secured $1 million in federal funding to advance the ongoing restoration and renovation of the West Herr Performing Arts Center.
The funding is included in the FY26 Senate Transportation-HUD Appropriations bill and will be applied to upcoming phases of PROJECT RESTOURATION, following the completion of Phase One.
RBTL CEO and Board Chairman Arnie Rothschild said the funding supports the organization’s long-term plan to restore and modernize the nearly 100-year-old complex while expanding its role as a multistage performing arts venue.
“We are working hard to restore a nearly 100-year-old complex, an incredible part of Rochester’s history, so we can create a multistage performing arts center that will benefit the entire community,” Rothschild said, acknowledging New York State Sen. Chuck Schumer for his support. “His assistance validates this ambitious goal.”
