What does it mean to you to be a women-owned business?

Owning and leading a company has provided me the opportunity to create a culture that values everyone’s input and affords both women and men opportunities for personal development and advancement. I also take the responsibility for representing Velocitii as a women-led business in the community very seriously. It is important for young women to see what is possible and have role models that will take the time to share learnings and advice along the way.

What challenges have you faced as a women-owned business?

The challenges facing any small but growing business are brand recognition and new client growth. In the outsourcing industry I have not found any specific obstacles based on the fact that we are a woman-led business. In fact, we have had people join our organization recently because we are a woman-led company.

How do you support women in your business and community?

The management team for Velocitii is 70% female. I personally mentor women who participate in our Future Leaders development program as well as several women in the greater Rochester community. I just finished my term as Board President of the Rochester Rotary Charitable Trust supporting the Rotary Sunshine Camp that provides genuine camping experiences for children/young adults with disabilities and now serve as the Vice President for Philanthropy for the Rochester Rotary Club Board.

What goals do you have for your business for the coming year?

Our business goals for the coming year are to continue to grow our existing client relationships while expanding into new industries like the federal government. We pride ourselves on developing strong partnerships with our clients built on mutual trust and transparency that result in new opportunities to support our clients’ growth. We are also focused on expanding our involvement in the community such as our partnership with Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection Program.

What recent accomplishments are you most proud of?

Velocitii was recently honored as Orleans County’s Business of the Year and named a Regional Top Workplace for the third consecutive year, earning additional national recognition as well. We were also proud to receive Awards for Innovation, Employee Appreciation, Employee Well-Being, Purpose & Values, Leadership, and recognition as a Top Women-Led Workplace. In addition, Velocitii was selected for the OnCon Icon Awards Top 50 Executive Team and secured a place on the Top 100 list of fastest-growing companies.
