Naomi Silver
President, CEO, COO, Rochester Red Wings
Years in current role: 20
What was the most significant challenge your organization faced in 2024, and how did you address it?
The weather in the 2024 season was our most significant challenge, with several more rainouts than is customary. Thankfully, our resilient fans came out in strong numbers the rest of the season, making up for what we lost due to rain. We always have a contingency plan due to possible weather issues — thus the Dan Mason Opening Day “50 Degree Guarantee”!
What trends or innovations in your industry do you anticipate having the biggest impact in 2025?
AI models created by our newly formed research and development department are allowing our entire organization to be more efficient and effective in bringing the best possible experience to fans. The impact of this new ability has just begun to reveal itself, and we expect to see the benefits for years to come.
What role do you see Rochester playing in your organization’s growth over the next few years?
Being very bullish on Rochester, I believe that what we have to offer will be a catalyst for growth. The sports, arts, and music offerings are unparalleled for a community of our size, and the universities, coupled with employment opportunities bodes well for a young population.
What community initiatives or partnerships are you most excited about engaging with this year?
The Red Wings are a true community partner, having relationships with hundreds of businesses in the area, both in the for-profit and nonprofit sector. Being a good partner and helping to shine a spotlight on these wonderful companies and organizations we work with is central to our business and our mission.
