Julie Camardo
CEO/5th Generation Family Member, Zweigle’s Inc
Years in current role: 16
What was the most significant challenge your organization faced in 2024, and how did you address it?
The most significant challenge for our organization faced in 2024 was managing the labor workforce with turnover, efficiencies and changing production levels. This is still a work in progress; we are limiting our turnover by focusing on Zweigle’s culture and ensuring that we continue to follow our core values at all levels of the organization.
What trends or innovations in your industry do you anticipate having the biggest impact in 2025?
High-quality hot dogs with a clean label and more natural ingredients and, along those same lines, more health-conscious and functional ingredients.
What role do you see Rochester playing in your organization’s growth over the next few years?
We would not be where we are today without the support of the Rochester community, from the purchasing of our products to the brand socialization. We ask for continuing support for all the homegrown organizations that make Rochester a unique place to call home.
What community initiatives or partnerships are you most excited about engaging with this year?
Continued partnerships with Red Wings and Amerks are always the most exciting for us. They both have unique ways to engage their followers while including their partnerships. We know working with them is always fun and they provide us with unique opportunities to support our brand.
How do you balance fostering innovation while managing day-to-day business operations?
Balancing innovation with day-to-day business can be challenging; for us it is making time for innovation as much as a priority as running the day-to-day business operations. It is about keeping the communication open between operations and sales. Also, taking time away from the business for strategic planning sessions.
