Work is beginning on Oxbo Interational’s 195,000-square-foot fabrication and assembly facility in Bergen, Genesee County.
The new facility will sit on 50 acres at the Apple Tree Acres Business Park and will replace the company’s existing plant at 7275 Byron Road in Byron, roughly 7 miles away, where it has been manufacturing since 1969.
Oxbo – which is headquartered in the Netherlands and manufactures agricultural machinery – expects to have 200 employees working at the local site once it’s fully up and running.
The project is scheduled for completion by October 2025. Ascension Advisory, a corporate real estate advisory firm, brought in Ohio-based Geis Companies to lead the construction and development of the project.
“Oxbo’s roots are based locally and have seen the company grow through partnerships, acquisitions and continued hard work from employees in the community,” said Chris Chadbourne, Oxbo plant manager. “We are excited to move to the expanded facility in Bergen which will allow Oxbo to remain local, while providing opportunities to expand globally, partnering with our customers to produce food for people around the world. “
