What do you think the biggest changes in the health care industry will be over the next year?

Artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics will increasingly drive significant changes in health care and human services. These tools will enhance diagnostics, streamline administrative tasks, and personalize patient care through predictive analytics and automation. In addition, the NYS Health Equity Reform 1115 Waiver has the potential to deepen the integration of primary care, behavioral health and social services.

What is one change you would make to the health care industry if you could?

I would change the outcomes. U.S. health care system is characterized by high costs and advanced technology, however, our people experience less favorable health outcomes compared to other countries. Integrated care models are one solution. Collaboration with health care providers, human service organizations, and payers is essential for making whole person care models work.

What advice would you give professionals who are just starting out in your field?

The field of health care and human services is very rewarding as your work changes lives. You will grow professionally by working as part of inter-professional teams that enhance the quality of care and foster a collaborative work environment. I recommend that you strive for balance between your professional and personal life to avoid burn-out and maintain well-being.
