President, Passero Associates

Years in current role: 4

What are you most excited about for your organization over the rest of the year?

Utilizing AI to streamline mundane tasks, enhance communication and improve reporting at all levels of the company. Our expectation is that increased automation will give our employees more time and freedom to be creative and better service our clients.

What was your biggest challenge last year?

Working with our clients and partners to adjust to the tough lending environment. Our design and construction services that are tied to private development slowed considerably when compared to 2021-2023, which were all years of significant growth. Fortunately, our other markets remain strong, and we were able to shift our resources to avoid major impacts to the company as a whole.

What do you wish you knew about your industry when you were first starting?

How much opportunity there is to make a positive impact on the lives of the people in the communities where we work. Servant Leadership is one of our Core Values and is the foundation of Passero. It took me too long to realize that, and even longer to do something about it.
