After launching the business in Webster in August of 2019, CEO Chrysa Charno, a physician assistant with more than 20 years of emergency medicine and urgent care, on Tuesday christened the new facility at 24 Spencerport Rd. in Gates Plaza.
AcuteKids treats patients between birth and 21 years old. On-site services include treatment for illness, lacerations, injuries as well as X-rays, IV hydration and COVID-19 rapid testing. Dr. Kenneth Katz is AcuteKids’ medical director.
The Gates location is open Monday through Friday from noon to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. No appointment is needed. Visits can be booked online.
The 4,500-square-foot space was created by Chicago-based Midland General Contractors, which specializes in urgent care spaces.
The Webster location has treated nearly 40,000 patients since it opened.
AcuteKids Pediatric Urgent Care is accredited through the Urgent Care Association. The walls are lined with colorful portraits of Rochester area kids living out their everyday adventures, the kid-friendly waiting room features a coloring station, books, and televisions, plus complimentary water and a coffee bar for parents, and every patient has the opportunity to take a new book home after their visit. There’s an extensive library of books to choose from for all reading levels.
