The annual 21 Stories for Scouts returns on Friday, May 12 for its 14th year. Participants will rappel the 19-story Kodak Tower as part of a fundraiser for the scouting program.

The event is open to the first 100 volunteers who meet or exceed the fundraising goal of a minimum of $1,100. Some spots are still available.

Stephen Hoitt, Scout executive/ CEO of Seneca Waterways Council, said people of all ages and abilities have participated in the event, including seniors in their 80s and 90s.

Hoitt said the event is a good way to push people out of their comfort zones.

The event raises $60,000 to $100,000, on average, and allows the organization to hire additional staff in inner city communities, as well as purchase supplies such as books and provide scholarships for camps, he said.
