Maria Cristalli

President and CEO, Hillside

Years in current role: 4.5

What are your priorities for 2023?

My biggest priority for 2023 is to continue supporting Hillside’s incredible workforce. The positive effects of our work among youth and families are the direct results of our dedicated and compassionate people. Hillside is committed to investing in the professional development and compensation of our employees. Wages and benefits are linked to employee engagement, which we know has a direct connection to the lifetime health, education, and economic outcomes of the children and families we serve.

What advice would you give young professionals in the Rochester business community?

My advice to young professionals is build relationships. It is essential that you create meaningful connections within your organization and the broader community that motivate you to grow and learn. As leaders, we have a responsibility to give back to the community in multiple ways — including mentoring and supporting future generations of leaders.

What is your favorite way to relieve stress?

My favorite way to relieve stress is being outdoors and enjoying the four seasons. I love to walk, hike, ski and ice skate.
