Hillside’s ‘Special Santa’ program underway
There is still time to donate to Hillside’s Special Santa program, which runs through Dec. 11.
The annual event, sponsored this year by KeyBank, is a hybrid model, meaning donations of new and unwrapped toy and gift donations can be dropped off at dozens of community locations throughout the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Southern Tier regions or online through AmazonSmile wish lists.
Monetary donations are also accepted.
Last year, more than 3,500 children and families received holiday gifts through Special Santa. Hillside hopes to increase that number for 2022, and is encouraging families, schools, neighborhoods, businesses and community groups to get involved.
“For more than 40 years, Hillside’s Special Santa program has united our staff and a generous community toward the shared goal of bringing holiday joy to thousands of young people and their families,” said Maria Cristalli, Hillside president and CEO. “With community support, we’re looking forward to another wonderful year.”
