What has been your organization’s biggest success over the past year?

Our biggest success as an organization is being able to overcome the workforce shortage as a result of the pandemic. The dedicated team in my office work hard at partnering with me to offer the same level of advice and service to our clients we have always given despite being understaffed. Our clients have expressed this through their personal feedback, website ratings as well as their loyalty and referrals. I am blessed to have a terrific team and I am most grateful.

What are your expectations for the next 6-12 months?

To help clients navigate through these challenging financial times.
Continue to strengthen and build my financial planning team
Continue to invite more Rochesterians to enjoy the arts and cultural institutions in our community
To serve as best as I can as a volunteer to the nonprofit organizations including the board chair of the George Eastman Museum

What advice would you give somebody just starting out in your industry?

Practice what you preach. Be an example to your clients. On the clients’ behalf, keep the mind of a capitalist and the heart of a social worker. And always, cultivate passion by raising the bar higher than your last personal best.

What is one personal goal you have for the next year?

To continue to have an attitude of gratitude as I enjoy living the best version of my life — with the purpose of being of service to others; surrounded by family and friends so that we can all experience the abundance and joy of what life has to offer.

What are your favorite things about Rochester?

I love the small-town, big-city feel of our community. We have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and culture alongside talented scientists and artists in our area. We have access to education and the arts. The majority of these organizations want to be inclusive removing economic barriers to access. The Community Foundation and United Way lead in providing equal access to health care, education and other community programs. We have High Falls and the Red Wings. We have many great chefs and restaurants to choose from at varying price points. Easy commute and parking. There’s lots to do, it’s up to us to make the most of it!
